The Transition Is Over!

black-woman-happy-crop

Hello! Well, the wait is over! I finally cut off the heat-damaged ends of my hair. It’s been about 22 months of transitioning. I kept stalling because I was afraid that if I cut my hair too soon, I wouldn’t be able to put it in a bun for lab. Lame reason, I know. Anyway, one day I decided to try mini-twists, and I knew they wouldn’t stay in with all the straight ends still attached, so while my hair was in braids, I just grabbed the scissors and chopped off about 1 1/2 – 2 inches of braid all around. (O_O) Surprisingly, the shape didn’t come out THAT bad.

Transitioning … Month 16!

WP_001880

Hey! So I have an exclamation point at the end of the title for this post, but the truth is I’m not actually excited about this. As you may know, I’ve been growing out my heat damage and I’m getting weary, y’all. My goal is 18 months of transitioning, but I might don’t make it! The itch to be rid of my straight ends is so strong at times, and I just wanna do a ‘wash n go’!! I’ve begun idolizing wash n gos as the perfect natural hair style, and watching all of these YouTube videos about them (this doesn’t help me reach my transitioning goal. smh.)

Anyway, I succumbed a little this weekend and snipped off a few ends!

Blog-hop Friday: Transitioning Tales!

woman-with-shopping-bags

Hello everyone! Surprisingly, this week passed relatively fast for me! I actually need more time! I’m working on a proposal for school, so I need as much writing time as possible! This weekend isn’t looking like it will be very exciting for me. LOL! Before we get to the blog hop, I found this picture of me getting my hair done from WAY back in the day! You can see it wasn’t always a pleasant experience…

LOL!!

LOL! I look SO distraught! That was every time y’all, EVERY TIME. I don’t know how my mom put up with me. She really would try her best to be gentle. Now, on to the blog-hop!

This week’s blog-hop is THEMED, so please make sure you pick a post that fits! This weeks topic is “Transitioning Tales”. You may submit posts about your personal transitioning experience, tips for transitioners, best transitioning styles, etc.! If you haven’t participated in a blog-hop before, the directions are below. Otherwise, you know what to do! Have fun, and have a great weekend!

To Participate:

1. Click the blue frog link

2. Add the URL of the post (not the URL for your blog homepage) you want others to see, and the name of your blog (or the chosen post).

3. Click the ‘Get the InLinkz Code’ button. You will be taken to a page with HTML codes (don’t worry, it’s easy!). Choose the code that’s right for you (code 1 for a page that accepts scripts: Blogger pages, or self-hosted WordPress pages for example. Codes 2 or 3 for regular WordPress pages and others that don’t accept scripts.) 4. Simply copy and paste your code into the blog post you chose earlier! (in HTML mode). This will let everyone know you’re participating in the blog-hop!

You’re done! Your blog picture and title will show up in the blog-hop collection, and readers can click on your picture to be directed to your page! The blog-hop collection will be open until 20 people join. After 20, the collection will close. Readers may still click on your links, but no new links will be added. Have fun everyone!
