About Me
Welcome everyone!! My name is Holly, and I’m a curl-aholic! I love to cook, eat, laugh, and do hair! I’m starting this blog to show myself and others that attaining and MAINTAINING healthy hair can be easy!
My Hair Story
My previous ‘addiction’ was to the flat-iron. I’ve never relaxed my hair, but once I started college I flat-ironed my hair every weekend religiously. BAD NEWS. Five years later (smh. yes, five YEARS), I was left with dry, brittle hair that was breaking all over. I was lucky it even took that long. I didn’t see any growth all the way through college, but this wasn’t a problem for me because my hair still LOOKED good when it was straight, and was still ‘long’ by social standards. Unfortunately, pretty hair doesn’t necessarily mean HEALTHY hair!
I realized the error of my ways earlier this year after I colored my hair, then blew it dry so I could flat-iron. My hair was EXTREMELY dry, ends split, brittle, and dull. I looked in the mirror at the strands hanging like peices of straw around my face, and thought “No. I’ve got to stop this.” That month, I found out about the Kim Cole’s Grow Out Challenge and joined. The next six months were a blur of products, protective styling, and trial and error. Lol! At the end of the challenge, I’d retained about 2 inches of growth, and learned so much about my curls! Namely, that healthy hair is easy to attain if you are determined, consistent, and persistent!
After only six months of working with my curls, I am by no means an expert. BUT, I’m more than willing to learn and share information with others! With that said, let’s get those curls back into shape!

My hair at the end of the six-month Grow out challenge. A gain of around two inches, and much thicker than before!
